The Montreal Canadiens are down to their final six games of the 2021-22 season.

The Habs schedule wraps up in just ten days when they will face the Florida Panthers at the Bell Centre on April 29th. In between they will take on the playoff bound Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and Wild as well as the Philadelphia Flyers and Ottawa Senators.

Though the team has had 76 games already to see what the have, they continue to make lineup changes on a regular basis and tonight’s game against the Wild is no exception.

The Canadiens announced that three different skaters will step into the lineup tonight compared to their last outing. Of course, their last game was an ugly 8-4 loss to the Washington Capitals so a few tweaks makes sense.

Jake Evans is dealing with an illness and will not be in the lineup tonight. There was no update on how long they expect him to be out but it seems to be a short term thing.

Joel Armia is heading to Finland to take care of a personal matter. He was granted a leave of absence to do so but there is no timeline for his return and he may not even play again this season depending on how long he will be away.

Corey Schueneman will also be out of the lineup as he is sitting as a healthy scratch.

Taking their place in the lineup tonight will be Laurent Dauphin, Mathieu Perreault and Jordan Harris.

Dauphin has scored 12 points in 35 games this season. Perreault has six points in 20 contests and Harris has played just five games since signing with the Canadiens after his college season ended.

The biggest change is in goal where Carey Price steps in to play his second game of the season. He stopped 17 of 19 shots against the New York Islanders in his season debut on Friday night.

It will also be interesting to see if the team can put together a better defensive effort than they did against the Capitals. They limited the Islanders in front of Price but allowed scoring chance after scoring chance when Samuel Montembeault was in goal on Saturday.
