The Montreal Canadiens are one of the few teams to have already pulled off a big trade this season.

In fact, the Tyler Toffoli trade to the Calgary Flames is the only big trade made so far this season other than the inevitable Jack Eichel blockbuster deal.

While the trades have been quiet so far, things promise to get quite busy over the next week.

The trade deadline is exactly one week away and the contenders in the Eastern Conference were settled long ago. The battle is a little tighter in the Western Conference, but with little to be determined other than seeding in the entire east, buyers have been able to be quite patient so far this season.

But teams will want to load up before the deadline. So, things are sure to speed up this week.

The Canadiens already made one big trade and will be sure to pull off a couple of more deals in the next seven days. Will they start to strip things down to the frame? Or will they tinker a bit for now with moving out pending free agents and leave the bigger deals to the offseason?

We will have to stay tuned to find that out, but there is a real opportunity to reset the team for the next decade with a few big trades in the coming days.

What are some possible deals that could reshape things for the future? Let’s take a look at three dream trades the Canadiens could make this week that would be amazing, but are also realistic.
