The Montreal Canadiens had three prospects participating in the 2022 World Juniors before they were unfortunately shut down after a few days of competition.

Kaiden Guhle of Canada, Jan Mysak of Czechia and Oliver Kapanen of Finland still might get a chance to represent their countries in the coming months at a rescheduled World Junior tournament.

While the pandemic reared its ugly head once again in shutting down the World Juniors, it also postponed many NHL games.

These games are going to be made up at some point in the future, and many believe it will happen during the scheduled Olympic break. While players were expecting to leave their NHL teams and represent their countries this year, that was also taken away when the Pandemic’s fourth wave took control of the sports calendar.

Now, countries are kind of scrambling to put together Olympic rosters at the last minute. It was already widely rumoured that Guhle could get a shot at representing Canada at the tournament in February, but it sounds like another top prospect of the Canadiens will be there to face him.

Sean Farrell was a fourth round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. He has exceptional skill and is putting on a show in his freshman college season. The left winger has scored eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in just 13 games this season for Harvard.

According to Ken Campbell of The Hockey News, Farrell has been added to USA’s roster for the Olympics.

Farrell has excellent vision with the puck on his stick and has stepped right into the NCAA level this season with no hesitation and started producing offence immediately. The 20 year old has some  experience representing his country, suiting up at the World Under-18, Under-18 and World Junior A Challenge in the past.

Having the opportunity to represent USA in the Olympics was not supposed to happen this year, but with NHL players not allowed to attend, the door could be open for Farrell.
