Montreal Canadiens: Two Laval Rocket Games Cancelled
Montreal Canadiens prospects playing for the Laval Rocket are having a very successful season.
The Rocket have played 26 games so far this season and have a 19-5-1-1 record to put them atop the Canadian Division. Especially recently, it seems like they might never lose again.
It’s guaranteed that they won’t lose many for the foreseeable future, but that’s not because of their talent.
The Toronto Marlies just had three games wiped off the schedule because of a positive test for Covid-19. Two of those games, Thursday night and Sunday afternoon, were scheduled to be against the Laval Rocket. The Marlies had a third game that was scheduled for next week against the Belleville Senators cancelled as well.
The Rocket did have a game with the Senators moved from May to April 21st.
Still, with the game against the Senators added in, the ROcket’s schedule is looking pretty thin for the next few weeks. That rescheduled game is their only game between now and April 30th, when they play the Senators once again. That means they have just one game to play in the next 17 days.
The games were not immediately rescheduled but it is expected they will be played at a later date. The AHL will be cautious and wait until they see how many more cases come out of the Marlies locker room before they decide to reschedule these games.
Right now, the Rocket only have eight more games on their schedule. It has been a great year for a few young prospects, especially Ryan Poehling, Cayden Primeau, Jesse Ylonen and Joel Teasdale.
Hopefully, the Marlies turn out to be minimally affected and they can get back on the ice soon.
