Montreal Canadiens are off to a great start and many of their new arrivals have played a big role.

The Habs have played six road games to begin the season and are yet to lose in regulation, going 4-0-2 over their first lengthy road test of the year.

While everyone has been good and Nick Suzuki, Jonathan Drouin, Jeff Petry, Tomas Tatar, Josh Anderson, Joel Armia and Jake Evans deserve plenty of credit, one player has stood out above them all.

Tyler Toffoli was signed to a four-year contract with a $4.25 million cap hit as an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He came to Montreal after an impressive stint with the Vancouver Canucks to end last season and a lengthy tenure with the Los Angeles Kings that included a Stanley Cup win in 2014.

The 28 year old winger was incredible for the Canadiens this week. He led the league in goals with five, and no one in the league had more than his eight points in the past seven days.

Toffoli put up these numbers in four games, including an assist against the Edmonton Oilers, before consecutive three point nights against his former team in Vancouver. The Scarborough, Ontario native had a hat trick on Wednesday night, then added two goal and an assist on Thursday. He would wrap up his first full week in a Habs sweater with an assist on Saturday night, torching his former team for five goals and seven points in three games.

Even with no preseason games this year, Toffoli has wasted no time fitting right into the Habs lineup. He is playing his off wing on the third line and is playing in the middle of the ice on the top power plat unit.

His addition to the lineup, like many things general manager Marc Bergevin has done lately, has been a huge boost for the Canadiens.
