Montreal Canadiens online game-used equipment sale is today!

The Montreal Canadiens are hosting an online sale this morning for game-used equipment.

The team normally holds this event in person, but considering the circumstances that have led to them hosting an offseason event in late October, it has been moved online this year.

The midst of a global pandemic seems like an odd time to be buying something a stranger wore while he was sweating profusely, but the Canadiens equipment managers are pretty trustworthy and probably did a pretty thorough cleaning. Plus, some of this stuff is pretty old.

There are some cool items up for grabs. Among the 80 or so pieces of equipment that could be yours today, are Carey Price’s game used goalie pads. With the way the Habs have limited chances against in the past few years, these pads are likely worn out even if he only wore them once or twice. Still, it would be pretty cool to own a piece of Price’s equipment.

I hoped there would be more jerseys available, but the only ones on the site are practice jerseys. Still a game-worn helmet would be a pretty neat piece of memorabilia to have in a basement rec room or man cave. Also, you could buy the Dale Weise worn gloves for cheap and tell everyone they belonged to Shea Weber.

Unless they have a jersey number on them, but it doesn’t look like from the pictures. I’m not sure if they would, but the only way to answer that question would be to buy them. You could also find the answer to many other questions, such as….

How worn out is Carey Price’s chest protector from carrying the team for a decade?

Does Keith Kinkaid’s glove have holes in it?

Does Brendan Gallagher’s visor still have shards of Matt Niskanen’s stick on it from repeated cross checks to the face?

Does Shea Weber’s stick blade still smell like burned rubber even though he hasn’t used it in months?

Do Paul Byron’s skates have some sort of rocket booster on the back of them?

Why are Charles Hudon’s gloves cheaper than everyone else’s? (nevermind, that’s self explanatory)

Why is Phillip Danault’s name spelled wrong on the Canadiens official website?

What is growing on the Hamilton Bulldogs game used stuff? (Seriously, how old is that?)

Will your beer league buddies think you’re cool if you have Jonathan Drouin’s gloves on tomorrow night at your weekly 11:45 P.M. game?

Next. Romanov expected to make Habs lineup. dark

Most of these questions and more can be answered if you head to the Montreal Canadiens official website this morning with your Visa card handy. The sale begins at 9:30 A.M. Eastern Time.
