If the Montreal Canadiens are willing to move Tomas Tatar, the Colorado Avalanche are a team that could be a good fit for the winger and the return.
After Tuesday’s moves, it looks as if the Montreal Canadiens are willing to take their seat as a self-proclaimed and acknowledged seller for the Trade Deadline. Teams were active, making trades as Brendan Dillon, Dylan Demelo, and Julien Gauthier found new homes. Marco Scandella was part of the player transactions as he was traded to the St. Louis Blues which makes you think if something more is coming, and whether that something includes Tomas Tatar.
There has been nothing out there stating that the Montreal Canadiens are actively shopping Tomas Tatar. Eric Engels and Elliotte Friedman have both stated that it would take a significant deal for Marc Bergevin to even entertain that idea. But three things have changed (or enhanced depending on how you think about it).
- They’ve started selling already (via Scandella).
- They had a rather embarrassing loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
- The Colorado Avalanche just lost Mikko Rantanen.
Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen will miss “weeks,” per the team, after crashing into the boards during Monday night’s loss to the Lightning.https://t.co/ACdJBnL7Ql

The third point is our fireworks trigger.
Colorado has a load of cap space and look to be a team that can do some serious damage in the playoffs. Chris Kreider is and has always been the name linked to them. There was a time where Blake Coleman may have been an option, but he’s now in Tampa Bay, which is ironic given the firey match the two teams had.
