Taylor Hall
Taylor Hall is going to get traded this season. The New Jersey Devils are not good and they can not afford to keep a player with this much value and lose him for nothing in free agency when the Devils have no chance of even making the postseason.
The Canadiens are one of the few teams with the cap space required to acquire Hall. They are also one of the few teams with a general manager who needs to make the playoffs to save his job (at least in our fantasyland scenario here.)
The Devils are certainly not going to give Hall away so it would take a big offer from the Habs, but it would make their team significantly better. A lot of insiders around the hockey world have been connecting the dots from Hall to Montreal for weeks already.
Hall would immediately step into the lineup with Domi and Suzuki and allow Drouin to move back down to the third line and give the Canaidnes enviable depth in their lineup. He was the Hart Trophy winner just a few short years ago and though he doesn’t appear to be on track to repeat that feat, he would be the most potent offensive player on the Habs for sure.
