The Montreal Canadiens started out the month of November looking great, but finished it with a thud. Here are the report card grades for every player’s month of November.

The Montreal Canadiens started off the month of November playing great. They lost their opening game of the month but it was the final game of a western road trip and they followed it up with a 4-0-1 record in their next five games. This included wins over the powerhouses of the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals.

The team seemed to be really clicking at that time, exactly halfway through the month and appeared to be one of the best teams in their conference. A playoff berth was beginning to look like a certainty, especially with the Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs struggling after being favourites to finish ahead of the Habs.

That was November 15th. The Canadiens would not win another game for the rest of the month. They would lose seven straight games, mostly to weak competition and finish the month with a 4-5-4 record. For a month that started out excellent, that is a disappointing finish.

It wasn’t all terrible, though it seemed that way when the Habs lost their seventh straight game on the 30th. They did earn points in eight of their 13 games, and won a few games over tough competition. It would be easy to give everyone on the team a failing grade for the second half of the month, but we will look at the whole 30 days here before coming up with a grade.

With that said, here are all the Habs marks in the monthly report card grades edition for a disappointing November.
