The Montreal Canadiens are still a wild-card ahead of camp as the buzz around another move as well Cole Caufield’s recent offence keeps the fanbase ablaze.

1) Do you think Marc Bergevi has one more move in him before the start of the season? If so, what would it be?

Louis: I believe Marc Bergevin has another move in him. I see him potentially signing Jason Pominville to a one-year deal as forward depth as we have traded Andrew Shaw and need a replacement in our top 9 for this season if Suzuki plays in Laval. In addition, if they can’t get a deal done, I’m one of the few that believe MB is highly interested in acquiring Patrik Laine but is going to need to negotiate as he doesn’t want to lose key certain roster players.

Curt Lawrence:  I do think MB has another move before the season, a significant one at that. I don’t buy into the Laine acquisition chatter. Especially if Domi is going the other way. Omar pointed out some of the difficulties surrounding that dubious tenet. Addressing the left D side is the major concern. I do believe Jake Gardiner could be a short term answer, but only on a one year “show me” deal.

Of course, he would need to be overpaid to come to Montreal for one season. Locking him up long-term with his wonky back and defensive lapses does not make sense, especially with young talent like Alex Romanov right on the cusp of coming into the fold… The RW position is also thin. I believe the answer lies internally: Nick Suzuki could potentially beat out Armia for the third line RW slot.
