The Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins are set to play Game 7 tonight putting Montreal Canadiens fans in an interesting position as to who to cheer for.

Only one series in this year’s first round is going the distance, and ironically it involves to historical Montreal Canadiens rivals. The Toronto Maple Leafs have always provided solid hockey despite being a bottom-feeder team for the past decade whereas playoff series with Boston Bruins always end up as the most memorable. It’s been interesting to track which end of the spectrum Habs fans have decided to lean on.

The overall consensus is that the Leafs should be the team. However, Tomas Plekanec and the battle to come back from a 3-1 series deficit has swayed some of the folks in pseudo black and gold gear. Although the Montreal Canadiens will definitely enjoy that second-round pick in Dallas, the 35-year-old has stepped up for his new team when its counted.

Now it’s do-or-die both teams. Ironically, there’s more pressure on the Bruins to win seeing as they already had two chances to eliminate the Leafs. Assuming you haven’t taken the stance of nonchalance not caring who wins, which team do you want to see walk away with the series victory?

A quick poll had the edge going to Toronto, but I’m sure it’s closer to a 50/50 split.

For Plekanec’s sake, it’ll be nice to see the Leafs advance. Additionally, seeing Brad Marchand out of the playoffs would be a pleasant bonus.
