Montreal Canadiens fans had some funny things to say on Twitter after Tomas Plekanec scored his first goal in the playoffs for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Even though the Montreal Canadiens aren’t in the playoffs this year, that hasn’t stopped fans from sharing their thoughts on the different series and how they’re playing out. Lately, there’s been an ongoing struggle as to who to cheer for between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins. The Habs and Bruins have met in the playoffs before and have had some hate-infused series, but the Leafs are the Leafs.

Despite the fact that former Habs centre Tomas Plekanec is on the team, the consensus has still been Boston over Toronto. Speaking of Plekanec, he got Twitter fired up last night to the point that he was a trending topic. Despite not having number one centre Patrice Bergeron in the lineup, the Bruins managed to get the early lead over the Leafs thanks to a goal from Torey Krug 28 seconds into the game.

However, the Leafs continued to push and tied the game 7 minutes later. The hero in that department was none other than Plekanec. The 35-year-old has looked more effective since getting bumped up to the second line with Mitch Marner and Patrick Marleau.

After getting his first playoff point in Game Three, a top-shelf rifle over Tuukka Rask‘s shoulder got Plekanec his 17th playoff goal in his career.

Many fans on social media had fun reacting to it, but Habs fans had some of the best responses to the goal.

There may not be another opportunity to see Plekanec score again seeing as how the Leafs are staring elimination in the face on Saturday. Perhaps he stands up and is the offensive hero one more time, but it’ll take more than that for them to get through the Bruins.
