Of all the things Marc Bergevin said about the Montreal Canadiens at Monday’s press conference, the most emphasized was the need for a change in attitude.

The words ‘Attitude Era’ generally applies to a certain memory, that is if you ever spent time watching professional wrestling. The Attitude Era was a period in the WWE where The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin made their claim on the company. It was arguably one of the best times to watch professional wrestling which focused on shock value and larger than life personalities, and all that is about to come to the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Maybe not the personality aspect, but an attitude change is coming to the Habs according to Marc Bergevin. The general manager continued to focus on the team’s attitude and that it needed to change. If this sounds like a previous push for character on the Montreal Canadiens, it kind of is. However, attitude has been a problem this season.

It goes to the moments where Jonathan Drouin would look like he didn’t care as much or even going back to Paul Byron‘s comments as a whole. It’s frustrating to continue to work when not everyone is pulling their weight, and that’s something that needs to change on the Habs.

Changes are coming, and Bergevin looked and sounded serious when doing it. We know what happened the last time the Montreal Canadiens were focused on a change-up, and it resulted in one of the most impactful trades in team history. How will Bergevin and company clean this one up?

Canadiens’ Gallagher says team struggled to find solutions

Only fitting that the team’s best player this season would correctly identify the team’s main issue.

Pacioretty won’t return without captaincy

For those who think Pacioretty should be stripped of the ‘C,’ don’t do it, that could be a deal breaker for the 29-year-old and his tenure with the team.
