With the focus of the Montreal Canadiens now being on the future, it’s good to see Jeremiah Addison making his AHL debut with the Laval Rocket.

It’s been on a six-month delay, but Montreal Canadiens seventh-round pick from 2015 is making his AHL debut with the Laval Rocket. Jeremiah Addison has been sidelined since September’s Rookie Tournament in September. The injury didn’t occur until practice after the rookie Habs’ final game of the weekend ahead, but it kept him out of both training camps.

It was definitely frustrating as Addison, along with Noah Juulsen and Michael McNiven, were players in the system fans were hoping to see play for the Laval Rocket this year. McNiven got his chance after strong showings in the ECHL with the Brampton Beasy while Juulsen drew into the lineup after recovering from his injury sustained in training camp. Addison started skating last month with the team, and he will now be given the opportunity against the Charlotte Checkers.

What can fans expect from the 21-year-old in his debut? Anything and everything. Addison has always been a gritty and energetic player who is sometimes hard to contain. Those traits helped the Windsor Spitfires to a Memorial Cup last year, where he had five goals and an assist in four games as team captain, and were seen on the ice in Toronto back in September. Addison was on a line with William Bitten and Martin Reway and served well as the pesky net-front presence on the rookie Habs.

It’s known yet where in the lineup Addison will play, but it looks like he will be matched up with the two tryouts from this week. Anthony Marcotte of 91.9 Sports tweeted that the left-winger was on a line with Nikita Korostelev and Anthony Beauregard who may make their debuts with the team as well. Considering the playing style of the other two, Addison can compliment them well. In fact, they could potentially be a very effective option for the Laval Rocket if used properly.
