Montreal Canadiens: One more game then it’s hello to the bye…week
By Omar L
The Montreal Canadiens will only have the Vancouver Canucks to deal with at the Bell Centre before they go on their five day bye week.
Every team gets a week mid-season to relax and step away from the game, and for the Montreal Canadiens, that starts tomorrow. They just have to play the Vancouver Canucks first. However, what may be more interesting is what will happen before the game is even played.
General Manager Marc Bergevin will be holding a press conference at 5:15 PM Eastern Time, and fans are itching to hear what he will say. The last time Bergevin spoke, he gave the infamous, “The answer is in the room,” speech. Since then, things with the Habs have gone from bad to worse, and they find themselves bottom five in the league.
It will most likely include some insight into the decision on keeping Victor Mete with the team, which was announced yesterday. Hopefully that isn’t all of it, and Bergevin expresses his thoughts on how the rest of the season will be handled.

The Habs haven’t done anything to prove that they’ve given up on this year regardless of the position they’re in. They could still make it mathematically, but not every team can have a Cinderella Story miracle run like the Ottawa Senators did in the 2014-15 season.
Another thing that would be interesting to hear are any updates on Max Pacioretty‘s trade status. Bergevin probably won’t say much about it, but we may be able to fish out some information.
For now, enjoy these reads as we get set for tonight’s presser and eventual game.
