The Montreal Canadiens are in Canada West for three games this week, and they’ll need a better effort to get back to the ways of winning.

Good morning Montreal Canadiens fans! The first stretch of the road trip continues to Western Canada which is a good thing if you’re tuning in from those parts. For those back in Montreal, it means a late night of watching hockey at least for the Vancouver Canucks game, but hopefully, the Habs make it worthwhile.

At the time being, Montreal will have to rely on who is on the team currently. Fans are still looking forward to the return of Artturi Lehkonen who took part in his first practice in a long time on Friday. Claude Julien told reporters that he has a long way to go, but practicing is a step in the right direction.

Nikita Scherbak could be another option for the Habs. He’s back to playing games with the Laval Rocket and has already made an impact. If the plan is to call him up again, it’ll be a ‘tough’ decision as to who takes a seat in place of Scherbak. The fourth line has been the Julien’s favourite lately, but at the same time, the other forwards on the team are pressbox proof.

The easiest thing to do here is to focus on what you have and the coaching staff as some work to do. What happened against the Senators has happened before, and they need to nip it in the but while a playoff spot is still within reach.

If you’re a fan of analytics (or fancy stats as some like to call them), Mathieu Chagon of All Habs has continued work on a new one. As important as outshooting an opponent is, the quality and effectiveness of said shots matter the most.

RECAP | Rocket – Checkers: Scherbak Scores Twice, Comeback Falls Short

Nikita Scherbak is back to business, and prospect Noah Juulsen hit a milestone in his professional career with the Laval Rocket. Unfortunately, the team lost another high-scoring game.

What will Canadiens fans find under the Christmas tree this year?

I’ve already given my Christmas list in, but I guess there is something else I could ask for. One Montreal Canadiens win streak please!
