Montreal Canadiens: The David Schlemko effect
By Omar L
The Montreal Canadiens are streaking up in the standings, most of it is because of Carey Price, but the addition of David Schlemko to the team is helping.
The highest number of wins the Montreal Canadiens have had this season is three. They now have three, and they’ll have a chance to make it four tonight against the Detroit Red Wings.
You have to feel better about last night’s win as they didn’t rely on Carey Price for the entire game. The Senators took the game to them after Mark Stone‘s shorthanded breakaway goal, but later on, the Habs used their speed to break the trap and generate pressure.
When you have Jonathan Drouin score the team’s first penalty shot goal in years, you know good things are going to follow it. Another aspect of last night’s game was how well David Schlemko played. He brings a puck-moving ability that the Habs originally only had in Jeff Petry. Victor Mete brought that for a while, but after watching Schlemko, it looks like he’ll be back in London soon.
