Montreal Canadiens: Two days off to make some changes
The Montreal Canadiens have two days off until their next game when they take on the Buffalo Sabres, and there are some changes they could choose to make.
It’ll be a much-needed two-day break for the Montreal Canadiens. Sure they haven’t won in the last five games, but the effort was there. Again, it’s not an excuse, but the Habs can take this time to get ready for the next set of matches.
There’s also a chance that Claude Julien looks into the lineup a little more. We don’t know the extent of Shea Weber‘s injury, and it’s possible he returns to the team soon. Additionally, Carey Price and David Schlemko are still around and could draw in. At the very least it wouldn’t be surprising to see Price start against Buffalo.
Jakub Jerabek had a pretty solid NHL debut, and the coaching staff will have to make a decision there. Victor Mete was scratched for the 26-year-old to play, and it may stay that way. If that’s the case, the Habs have to ask themselves whether that’s best for the 19-year-old’s development.

You also have to look at some of the lines. Max Pacioretty, Jonathan Drouin, and Alex Galchenyuk have generated some scoring chances, but haven’t been good together as a unit. However, the other lines have been playing well, so it makes you wonder whether Julien will leave it alone to preserve the other forward lines.
We’ll have to wait until Friday when the Habs are back on the ice practicing. For now, enjoy these reads to start your day!
