These new accusations are definitely not helping the Montreal Canadiens and Alex Galchenyuk. Unfortunately, there aren’t many ways to deal with it.
It’s crazy how Alex Galchenyuk can never be taken out of the spotlight on the Montreal Canadiens. In the past he had to deal with the, “playing center”, questions (which I wouldn’t be surprised he still gets now). There were also all the questions regarding his numerous moves up and down the lineup. After scoring in the team’s latest win, you would’ve hoped that the attention would dissipate a little bit. That won’t be the case unfortunately.
I still can’t believe this is happening. Former Montreal Canadiens player and coach Mario Tremblay appeared on 98.5 FM and made some comments about Galchenyuk. According to Tremblay, the 23-year-old spend time in rehab over the summer.
None of this is confirmed, and personally, I don’t see any truth to it. The NHL is very discreet when it comes to player assisted services. If this actually happened, there may be some legal action considering this isn’t something that should be made public. I don’t understand what Tremblay would gain by making this accusation, ignoring the, “it’s for the story”, excuse.

This is another distraction that Galchenyuk and the Montreal Canadiens do not need because we all know what’s going to happen now. Reporters are going to continuously ask him to comment on the whole situation. The only thing he can do to get through this is to just refuse to comment, and sadly that won’t help. It won’t even just be Galchenyuk, the rest of the team will most likely be asked to speak on the matter as well.
At this point, anything can be spun and used as a response, and it would be in everyone’s best interest to make sure this doesn’t get any worse. Galchenyuk needs to focus on hockey and improving as a player. Even though he’s with better linemates, he probably wants to find a way to get back into the top six.
Hopefully the organization helps Galchenyuk handle this situation. Team’s constantly say that they need to support each other during the bad times. This has to be one of those times.
