The Montreal Canadiens will look to bounce back from their two straight loses, as they battle the Devils tonight. The Habs have only scored one goal in their last two games, and they have seemed out of place offensively. Tonight the Canadiens will get a terrific chance to get their offense clicking again, as the Devils are one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL.

So far this season, the New Jersey Devils have allowed 130 goals in 46 games played. New Jersey is the 10th worst team in goals against, and the 12th worst team in goals against per game. The Habs should have some excellent chance to create offense in this game.

Another area where New Jersey has struggled even more, is scoring goals. The Devils have only scored 102 goals all season long, and are only averaging 2.22 goals per game. This currently ranks the Devils 28th overall in total goals, and in goals per game.

Obviously, the best thing that the Canadiens could do to win the game, would be to score early and often. The Devils just don’t have much offensive fire power to match the Habs. If the Habs were to take an early lead, it would be very difficult for the Devils to make a comeback.

The Canadiens will also need some production off of their Power Play. In each of the last two games, the Habs have struggled to establish themselves in the offensive zone.

The Habs have been unable to make crisp passes, or they have been unwilling to shoot. The Canadiens indecisiveness has let their opponents dictate the Power Play, and as a result, the Power Play has been brutal.
