Cannon Fodder

If I were in Coach Jacques Martin’s shoes, I would use the latest comments by Bruins’ forward Mark Recchi as a rallying cry for the troops. Not that any player on the Canadiens need motivation for tonight’s tilt. If they do, they should be a healthy scratch.

Leprechauns Beware

Dan O’Hallaran and Dan O’Rourke have been assigned the task of maintaining order tonight at the TD Garden is Boston. Funny, I thought St. Patrick’s Day was last Thursday?

Plekanec Sighting At The Morning Skate

Tomas Plekanec was the first Habs’ player on the ice this morning. While he left a few seconds later, he returned along with Carey Price, to warm up the goaltender, and worked on faceoff drills with Andreas Engqvist. All signs point to a return to the lineup tonight. Confirmation will come from the Canadiens just prior to the drop of the puck.

And In Goal for Boston Is…

Here’s a loaded question for you. Tuukka Rask allowed four goals against in his last start against the Canadiens in Montreal. A game later, after coming into Saturday night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in relief of Tim Thomas, he decided to take a chunk out of Dennis Seidenberg’s hind parts after being scored on. Thomas had allowed four goals on 14 shots and was replaced by Rask late in the second period. If I were a betting man, I’d say Thomas gets the start, simply because Rask is an idiot.
