Everywhere P. K. Subban skates – he leaves noone indifferent.
People boo , people clap and people talk. Mostly , people notice the Habs’ rookie rearguard and it will be no different ce soir as Subban takes to the ice in Boston.
A battle of the ages as Montreal attempts to match their rivalry in points and join the Bruins atop the Northeast division. Boston holds a game in hand and regardless of the outcome of the game tonight – these two teams will complete the season one two in the division. Both teams are not exactly powerhouses when it comes to offensive prowess so it is up to the team’s defence and goaltending to do the job. Price and Thomas – Thomas and Price . The old and the new , the veteran and the rookie. Whichever way the goalie stick lays , so goes their teams.
Thomas has returned to keeping things simple and more importantly – the back pain that made
so many nights uncomfortable last season , have all but disappeared. ‘ No pain , lots to gain’ is the saying that should be written on Thomas’ backside in bright Gold lettering. That saying can be applied to Price as well. His angst was between the ears last season and whatever Demons caused so much anguish last year – have disappeared leaving a calm and much more serene Carey to hold the fort. Two goalies with peace of mind will get you every time.
Payback
When the two squads last met on Bell Center ice , a skirmish broke out at the end of the game as the Habs’ Pacioretty gave the Bruins’ resident giant a ‘ love touch ‘ . A push to Chara’s gluteous maximus that would have been a shove into most player’s shoulders. As Pacioretty quickly discovered , Chara does not like anyone touching him on his behind with the possible exception of his wife. Does Chara hold a grudge when it comes to affairs of the bum ? The ice surface in Beantown will be the place where Pacioretty and his mates discover the Bruins’ defenceman’s Homophobic ( or lack of… ) ways.
One thing is certain. P. K is not loved anywhere except his Mom and Dad’s living room and in the company of Hal Gill. If Chara’s hatred channels through his teammates and toward the Canadien players , P. K will be singled out and Subban will not back down. The Bruins’ Marc Savard is out for the remainder of the season and perhaps career due to his concussed brain. A sad turn of events for a very good hockey player but for tonight’s game – it may be for the better.
An old – fashioned bang and crash match – up may turn it’s pretty head tonight. If the NHL would remove the instigator rule – the evening’s game would leave noone indifferent.

The game is at 7 30 pm in Boston and the boys are back in town to face the Isles tomorrow. James ‘ the Wiz ‘ Wisniewski is expected to dress after missing a couple of games with the flu.
