FanSided”s newest child has entered the sporting world complete with Bleu,Blanc et Rouge diapers, a cigarillo in it”s mouth and a one hundred year old history book under it”s arm.
Please allow me to introduce myself…my name is Rick Keene. I am a man with no wealth and great hockey taste. I have been around for many long years, forty – four to be exact and a hockey fan for forty – two and a half. I am the keeper of this site.
They say that those who write can”t do and those who do – can”t write. I can write and in regards to hockey , I can do, have done and will continue to do. I have played the game as a defence man from the age of eleven, I have coached from the age of fifteen on and off and I have refereed. (Hence the grey hair). I have done all three at various times at high levels so it is with conviction that I will write my opinions on this site.
I promise to give all my energy to make this – one of the best sites for Habs fans to get information on their favourite team.
I love Le Club Du Hockey Canadien. That doesn’t mean I won ‘t bash them ! If I disagree with a coaching decision, a management decision or a player”s performance – I’ll write it down. I will never disrespect anyone and I expect any reader who comments on this site to do the same. Be true to yourself and and your opinions but keep it within the boundaries of good taste. If not, your comments will be removed and you will be blocked – game over, no overtime and no shoot -out!
I have experience as a writer but this is my first foray at managing a blog. Be patient for the first couple of weeks as I scrape the rust from my keyboard, sharpen my witty blades and tape my stick.Rome and The Montreal Canadiens were not built in a day . I hope to include a variety of Habs related links, videos and a Podcast down the road – negociations are ongoing.
So, in the words of the late Danny Gallivan(the Habs play by play man during the late sixties and seventies), let “s skate “gingerly” into the zone, do a ‘spinerama’ and take a pass from The Rocket.Let ‘s hope we don”t hit too many posts…!
Thanks for tuning in and let”s get going shall we…?
Sincerely,
Rick Keene
