Detroit Red Wings. 8. team. 72. . 7-19-3. Previous: 8th

The Detroit Red Wings keep sinking to new lows this season. They stretched their losing streak to nine games this week and are constantly looking like not only the worst team in the Atlantic Division, but the worst team in the entire National Hockey League.

Last week, they were bombarded three games in a row. They lost 6-0 to the Toronto Maple Leafs to start their week. It was an ugly game that saw Jonathan Bernier miss the start due to illness, only to have Jimmy Howard leave in the first period with an injury and force Bernier into duty.

The Wings next game wasn’t much better as they lost 6-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers. They played the next night and once again were dominated in a 5-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. That is three games in a row where they were outscored 17-3. They have looked bad all season, but that might have been their worst stretch of hockey yet.

Last week’s record: 0-3-0
