The Montreal Canadiens took on the San Jose Sharks and the Toronto Maple Leafs while Joel Armia and Jonathan Drouin led the way.

Welcome to the “It’s Been One Week” segment, where we take a look at everything of importance that has taken place in the past week with the Montreal Canadiens. We will give brief recaps of games, updates on prospects and much more.

The Habs didn’t have the most exciting week, but there were several storylines and stars that should help move things along as their season continues.

The Montreal Canadiens find themselves two points out of a playoff spot early on in the 2019-20 season. On Thursday, October 24th, they took on the San Jose Sharks, who have won nine straight games against the Habs since March 21st, 2015.

The penalty-kill has been a massive disappointment for the Canadiens so far this season. They gave up two power-play goals to the Sharks and are currently ranked 30th in the league at 68.57%. The only team with a worse PK% is the Winnipeg Jets. They didn’t look like themselves that night, but against the Sharks, do they ever?

The game against their historic rival; The Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, October 26th painted a different picture. Early on, they looked flat, and Price seemed of this world, but they competed hard and were always in the fight. During the 3rd period, Price shut and locked the door, and the team rallied to score 3 goals and upset the Leafs, who were in the second game of a back-to-back.
