Montreal Canadiens: Carey Price is handling the media appropriately
By Omar L
The Montreal Canadiens media isn’t liking how Carey Price has been answering questions lately but based on everything that’s happened; it’s for the best.
Carey Price‘s time away from the Montreal Canadiens was about getting back to being 100%, but also back to the right headspace. There were a lot of times we’d see him make a certain more or misplay the puck where we’d think, “Wow, that’s very un-Price-like.” Thankfully, he’s been playing at that standard again since returning to the team.
One thing that has changed is how he deals with the media. Price was never one to spark the mic or drop a heated quote. However, it hasn’t been like this before. Reporters find it hard to get the 30-year-old to talk about elements of the game which for them could be frustrating. A recent example of this was after the NHL 100 Classic.
When someone would ask Price about the game, he would talk about the experience instead. Some of it, in particular, was funny to listen to it.
"I felt pretty good actually, I dressed appropriately."

Apparently, the media isn’t having it anymore and are starting to lash out at Price. They believe that he is trying to insult them by answering (or not answering) questions on a regular basis. I have a question though, can you blame him?
After all the garbage that was coming out about Price and his personal life during his time away, do you expect him to treat them the same?

The line of respect has been crossed already. When it gets to the point where Price’s wife (Angela Price) has to go on social media to clear up rumors, you know it’s been taken way too far.
Some have dived into the ‘professional’ aspect of it, but honestly, he’s handling the media the right way. Talking to reporters is part of the gig of being in the NHL however one’s relationship with their teammates and management are the most important thing.
Price probably doesn’t and shouldn’t care about what the media thinks of him anymore and who knows whether he will ever get back to being more open with them. For the time being, this is how it’s going to be, and Price has every right to go about it that way.
What do you think of Price’s handling of the Montreal media? Do you agree with it? Let us know down in the comments.
