The Montreal Canadiens lost to the Washington Capitals last night, 4-1. Also your latest updates, news, and morning links from around the web.

The Montreal Canadiens played their first home game in weeks, but were outplayed from start to finish, in their loss to the Capitals. The Habs were out shot 39-23 by the Capitals, as the Caps controlled the play from start to finish. Also, Alex Ovechkin scored his 544th career goal last night, and this ties him with Habs legend, Maurice Richard.

Turnovers were a key for the Washington Capitals, and cost the Canadiens greatly. Even Carey Price had a rare, but brutal turnover which led to a key Washington goal. The Habs will have to correct this sloppy style of play in a hurry before their next game.

The good news for the Habs was that their was a Tomas Plekanec sighting last night. Tomas was able to jam in a loose puck in front of the Caps net, as Pleky scored his fourth goal of the season.

Plekanec’s name has come up in trade rumors recently because of his poor play. Hopefully Pleky can build come consistency off this goal moving forward, and can remain with the Habs.
