Which Canadien Had the Best Ice Bucket Challenge?

So far, 15 Canadiens have participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that has been circulating on the internet via Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and various other sites. The challenge amounts to this: dump a bucket of ice water on your head and donate $10 for ALS research, or forgo the ice water and donate $100 to the same cause at ALSA.org.

But which Hab’s ALS Ice Bucket was the best? We have a number to choose from. At current count, 15 Habs have covered themselves in ice water (plus Marc Bergevin and Michael Therrien), but I put myself through the wringer previewing these for you, so you only have three to choose between. You are welcome.

As you can imagine, it was immensely difficult.

While it was undeniably entertaining watching Youppi douse Bergevin and Therrien, and Therrien do the same to Youppi, their answers to the challenge were less than creative. The videos ranged from the simple to the confusing, but for the best entertainment factor we have to turn to P.K. Subban, who arranged for a dump truck to pour an entire load of ice water on his head.

Some might be of the opinion that it was a little much, but then again, if you’re going to do this kind of thing and you have the time, why not go all-out?

Lars Eller, David Desharnais, and P.A. Parenteau, on the other hand, got a number of children involved for the adorable factor. How can you say no to those kids in their Canadiens jerseys?

Not to mention the Zamboni full of ice. Knowing what goes on on that ice, I am in awe of all three of their complete disregard for their immune systems.

But the best video might have been made by retired Canadien, Georges Laraque. LaRaque reminded the viewers that this challenge wasn’t just a fun fad — it’s purpose was to raise money and awareness for ALS. As one fireman says in Laraque’s video, “it takes more than a bucket of ice to fight ALS.”

Apparently it takes a couple firehoses worth of ice.
