Watch out, Canadiens forwards. Someone is gunning for your job, and it is literally the last person you’d expect.
Mexican actor, Gael García Bernal, gave an interview to Shauna Denis for the CANADIENS Magazine, during which he jokingly put forth the idea that he could play for the Habs.
You can take a look at García Bernal with his own, customized Habs jersey in the interview, linked above.
CANADIENS Magazine: Was this your first time at a hockey game?
Gael García Bernal: This was my first game and I hope to understand at least some of the rules. I don’t understand, for example, what a foul would be. They hit each other really badly, it seems.
CM: Ever been on the ice?
GGB: It’s a real shame because with all the time I need to devote to acting, I think the Canadiens are missing out on a great, great forward. (laughs) If the coaches know I’m here, perhaps this could be my opportunity. I already have the jersey and that’s really all you need, right? I’m sure somebody can lend me some skates.
Standing at 5’6″ and what appears to be a total of 100 pounds soaking wet, the Motorcycle Diaries and Y Tu Mama También star might not quite have what it takes to make the top line. Should Brendan Gallagher (of 5’8″ fame, according to the video below) go down, however, I’m sure the Habs know where to find García Bernal.
