5. Matt Moulson – Left Wing

Matt Moulson bounced around the NHL this past season, starting with the New York Islanders before being dealt to the Buffalo Sabres, and finally ending up with the Minnesota Wild at the trade deadline in March.

One thing Moulson did with all three teams was score goals, and the Canadiens need some help in that department. Though he played on three separate teams this season, Moulson scored 23 goals in 75 games, and is a three time 30 goal scorer with the Islanders.

Moulson would add some depth to the left side behind Max Pacioretty, and could help the Canadiens ease Alex Galchenyuk’s transition from left wing to center which is inevitably going to happen sometime in the future.

With higher scoring options such as Jarome Iginla, Mike Cammalleri and Paul Stastny on the open market, Moulson may come in a bit cheaper than the rest, but won’t come cheap. Expect him to sign a 4-5 year deal at around 5.5 million per season. He would be a great fit with the Habs, but his contract demands may be a bit high for a team that does not know what P.K. Subban will cost them as soon as next season.
