The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms with Sven Andrighetto on a three year entry level contract. Sven was selected by the Canadiens in the third round, 86thoverall in the NHL Draft in June.
Andrighetto played the past two seasons with the Rouyn Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL. He scored 176 points in 115 career regular season games in with the Huskies, and added 30 points in 14 postseason games this past season.
Sven is a native of Switzerland, and has represented his country at the past two World Junior Hockey Championships, where he compiled a total of 10 points in 12 games.
Andrighetto was past over at the 2012 NHL Draft, meaning he is old enough to turn pro as soon as next season. He will head to Hamilton to join a young Bulldogs squad, where he will be given an opportunity to display his impressive offensive skill.
Andrighetto missed 15 games last season while gone to the World Junior Tournament but still managed to finish sixth in the QMJHL scoring race last season, scoring 98 points in just 53 games.
