Bad news for the Bulldogs, top forward Louis Leblanc is going to miss 4-6 weeks of play due to his ankle injury. The injury was from a fight he had with Toronto prospect Jesse Blacker in the season’s third game.

This is good news for Jonas Nattinen, who is pretty much gaurenteed a spot in the lineup with Leblanc out of commission, but its bad news for the Bulldogs in general. They are a notable disadvantage already in the lockout season with NHL level players  leading  opposing AHL squads, this is even worse without Leblanc, who has the best claim among Bulldog’s forwards of belong in an NHL lineup.

The Bulldogs have also finally put a timetable to the start of top netminder Cedric Desjardins 2012-13 NHL season with him scheduled to return to the lineup within the next 2 weeks. After the ~.900 goaltending of AHL backups Delmas and Mayer, getting  one of the AHL’s best goaltenders behind them should significantly improve the ‘Dogs chances of winning hockey games.

Wow really bad news for Louis. Glad to see Desjardins is only a couple of weeks.
