Watching Habs Hockey During the Lockout

With the first regular season games cancelled, the rabid Habs fan is going to have to look outside of their wheelhouse to watch hockey games. Here are some of the offerings available.

TVA sports has signed a deal to show 40 of the Hamilton Bulldog’s games this year in French.

Sportsnet, especially Sportsnet One will be broadcasting AHL games, uncertain how many will be Hamilton, but they will have the October 20th game between them and the Toronto Marlies.

There are a number of rumours that Quebec Player’s tournament will be televised by RDS. They have been confirmed by the Montreal Gazette here. Markov may have left them but Carey Price is now suiting up in net. Previously these games could only be watched live or by a live feed by Abe Hefter that looked like it was taken by a cellphone camera.

Tomas Plekanec and Tomas Kaberle and their dominating Kladno Knights are always availible for live streamed games in the Czech Extraligia at

Swedish Elite League games are often available for live streaming at if you want to watch Sebastian Collberg (if he every gets icetime) or Magnus Nygren.

ESPN3 is supposed to be picking up KHL games as usual for livestreaming.

And off course, if you follow junior hockey, Sportsnet and various local channels will be covering them as usual.
