While the NHL players remain locked out we’re still going to see some NHL players face off against each other in Quebec today.

At 7PM EST, two squads of players that have been training and practicing in la Belle Province are going to be playing regular charity games, the players divided into a team Montreal coached by RDS’s Gaston Therrien and a team Quebec coached by TVA’s Dave Morisette. Both teams will have 9 forwards, 3 defensemen and one goaltender.

The two teams:

Team Montreal

Goaltenders: Marc-Andre Fleury

Defense: Andrei Markov, Josh Gorges, Bruno Gervais

Forwards: Jason Pominville, Max Talbot, Mathieu Darche, Steve Begin, Alex Burrows, Colby Armstrong, Brian Gionta, Derrick Brassard, Gulliame Latendresse.

Team Quebec

Goaltenders: Jonathan Bernier

Defense: Marc-Eduord Vlasic, Francis Boullion, Roman Hamrlik

Forwards: David Desharnais, Simon Gagne, Steve Bernier, David Perron, Mathieu Perrault, Beniot Pouliot, Lars Eller, Travis Moen and Brandon Prust.

If this was a real game I’d put my money on team Quebec due to their far superior strength at center ice.

More games will be played on October 4th and 5th.

Not to mention Team Quebec’s superior goaltending.

Interesting to see so many Habs involved, including Russians (Markov), newcomers (Prust) and even ex-Habs (Hamrlik).

These are guys that have some reason to be in the Montreal area, that’s going to be Habs, ex-Habs and native sons.
