Tomas Plekanec is Destroying the Czech Extraligia

Tomas Plekanec is too good a player to be in the Czech Extraligia. This is becoming more and more apparent with each game so far.

Over the course of 4 games for Kladno HC, Plekanec has scored at least 2 points in each game, capping with a hat-trick and an assist performance today against Pardubice (With Ales Hemsky and Jakob Kindl in the lineup).

In 4 games Plekanec has 6 goals, 5 assists and 11 points (1.5 goals per game, 2.75 points per game). This is the kind of scoring that an overage CHL start puts up. While I doubt Plekanec can quite manage this pace, we probably can expect 2 points per game scoring to continue.

Plekanec is playing on a squad with Juri Tlusty and Jaromir Jagr. Essentially he his a 1a NHL center with a good top 6 and acceptable top 6 winger on his line, playing against sub-AHL level competition. The Czech Extraligia is a .39 NHLE league, scoring 2 points per game is actually to be expected by a ~60 points per 82 game NHL forward like Plekanec, especially with NHL level supporting players.

Expect Plekanec to provide more goals like this going forward.
