Draft Day Part 2: The pick

Yakupov and Murray went first and second. With the third overall pick the Montreal Canadiens select:

Alex Galchenyuk of the Sarnia Sting.

More analysis from the team here later tonight. For now, suffice to say he was at least number 3 on the lists of most of the Habs followers we consulted. And everyone has faith in Trevor Timmins who is one of the best in business.

His 16 year old scoring numbers are excellent, skating speed is near the top for this draft and was lights out at the combine, alliviating fears that his knee was a problem. The worry is that he missed a year of development and that also might have revealed flaws in his game not apparent before hand.

As the setter of editorial policy here, I proclaim A Winning Habit views this as a limited win for the Montreal Canadiens and endorses this selection.
