Habs LW Max Pacioretty has been award the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for the player who “Best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey.”
Pacioretty bounced back from an ugly neck injury and concusion from a contriversial Zdeno Chara hit which ended a very promising breakout season in 2010-11. He returned to be one of the league’s best Left Wings, scoring 33 goals and 65 points in 79 games. Pacioretty also dedicated himself off-ice after the hit, including arranging for the purchase of a MRI machine for Montreal General Hospital.
This is a well deserved recognition for the hard work and excellence of an excellent hockey player and a fine young man.
