After what seems to have been a mere formality of an interview with his former boss Michael Therrien, former Hamilton Bulldog’s head coach Clement Jodoin has been transferred to be the new assistant coach for the Montreal Canadiens. He reprises the role he once filled under the previous Therrien’s previous reign as Head Coach of the Montreal Canadiens.

Therrien has stated he intends on bringing in another assistant coach that will work primarily with the defensemen. There’s is likely to be speculation about former Habs great and current New Jersey Devils assistant coach Larry Robinson who has previously been interested in coming to Montreal in an assistant role.

Jodoin is reported to be serving off the bench during games in the upstairs in-game tactical “eye in the sky” role. Which means the yet unnamed defensive coach will be the third man on the bench.
